About The Artists
Laura B and Her Band

Website

The Country Soul Sessions are delighted that the UK’s foremost authentic recording Rhythm & Blues artist Laura B and her all-star band will be playing for us at our CSS December ’Special'. Laura B’s powerful vocal style is inspired by R&B singing legends such as Ruth Brown, Big Maybelle, LaVern Baker and Etta James. Yes Laura B ‘rocks' and yes 'she rolls' but she is more than ably backed by a fantastic seven-piece outfit that includes some of the finest R&B musicians in the UK and Europe. To date Laura B and her band have recorded three long players culminating in their latest release ‘Just A Little Love’ (Shack Records) in 2020. Having played at major events and festivals in the UK and all over Europe this is a great opportunity to see this amazing outfit perform within an intimate club environment. Don’t miss them!

Hotcha Paul and The Head Honchos

We are extremely pleased to welcome back the fabulous Hotcha Paul and The Head Honchos to the Country Soul. A London based quintet Hotcha Paul and The Head Honchos take their inspiration from the music & dance scene of the 30’s era and are touched by a range of musical artists such as Slim Gaillard, Fats Waller and Tempo King. Fronted by head honcho Mr Paul Crook (vocal, guitar and dancing) this band is full of musical talent with Niall Oates on bass (Ronnie Scott’s rejects, Rag and Bone club), Stephen Large on keyboards (Caro Emerald, Paloma Faith and Squeeze) Andy Jones on drums (Imelda May, Alabama 3 )and trumpet ace Barry Few. Join us at the October CSS and see this marvellous quintet do what they do….
