About The Artists
Sister Suzie

Website

We are delighted that Sister Suzie will be returning to the Country Soul. Sister Suzie hails from the northernmost tip of Northumberland and it was her love of singing R&B that took her to the musical melting pot that is New Orleans. On returning to the UK she moved to Hastings where she now resides. "A little lady with a big voice" Sister Suzie sings to the infectious concocted rhythm & blues backbeat supplied by her fantastic band feat: Matt Jackson (guitar), Al Nicholls (Tenor Sax), Darren 'Eddie' Edwards (Bass) and Mr Brian Nevill (Drums). In 2018 the band released their debut LP ‘Ain’t No Lady’ (The Last Music Company Records) to rave reviews. For this Session Sister Suzie and her great band will be performing two live sets with a break in between.

Jim Hammond Trio

Website

We are thrilled that the Jim Hammond Trio will be making their Country Soul debut in June. Mr Hammond has been passionate about music since the precocious age of 5. A multi instrumentalist from piano to the humble squeezebox Jim turned professional in 2007. His musical journey has taken him from the great stages of Europe to very simple stages made from wooden pallets. As well as fronting his own Trio Jim has been part of other outfits playing anything from R&B, Rock ’N’ Roll, Surf and Country Blues. Jim says that “I look forward to seeing you and performing at the Country Soul Sessions” expect to hear some fine blues and country boogie. Jim will be accompanied by Gary Boller on bass (Blackwater Valley Boy & Tennessee Rhythm Rider) and Bill Crittenden on drums (The Kingcats).
