About The Artists
The Obscuritones

Website

We are delighted The Obscuritones will be returning to the Country Soul in November. With their close harmonies and rockin’ rhythms the Obscuritones are like the Andrew Sisters accompanied by The Stray Cats! With influences ranging from Johnny Burnette Trio, Wanda Jackson and Hank Williams…….expect to hear some surf, country and rockabilly sounds topped with wild and cool originals. Don’t miss this amazing outfit.

Lil' Lost Lou

Website

We are delighted that Lil' Lost Lou will be returning to the Country Soul. Led by the effervescent Lou Psyche, the band who wear their Rockabilly, Country and Rock N' Roll influences decidedly on their sleeves are purveyors of a unique musical vision. Born and raised in Camden Town, Lou has shared stages with the likes of Wanda Jackson & Wilko Johnson and she loves to play her Epiphone Casino guitar. Come and see this cool band and expect some real 'London swagger"!

Drew Morrison and the Darkwood

Website

The house band are looking forward to treading the CSS boards once again. The Darkwood are Nick Steyn (drums), Ian Gant (guitar), George London (bass & singing) and songwriter Drew Morrison (guitar and singing). The band's central vision of a music touched by influences ranging from Alt Country, Pop & Rock N' Roll all tinged with 'golden chording' has remained focussed and realised itself into a unique sound. Expect to hear flashes of late 1960s Velvets, Jimmy Webb-esque wordplay and electrical guitar playing that has one foot in the 1950s and the other very much in the now.
